A guide for restaurants and cafés

What is a QR menu and how do you use one?

A QR menu is a food or drinks menu that guests open by scanning a code on their table with a phone camera. They browse your selection in their browser instead of waiting for a printed menu. With mojmeni, guests do not need to install an app or create an account.

PDF or digital menu: what is the difference?

A QR code is a link. It can open a PDF, a photograph of a price list or a digital menu. A PDF is a simple way to share an existing menu, but guests often need to zoom and move around the page to read it.

A digital menu fits the phone screen. In mojmeni, guests browse categories, search for dishes and open photos, descriptions and available options. When you change a price or hide a sold-out dish in the dashboard, the code on the table stays the same.

What should you prepare for a QR menu?

Prepare categories, item names, prices and short descriptions. Add real photos of your food and drinks, portion sizes and extras guests can choose. Staff should check prices and availability before you put the codes on tables.

Enter accurate allergen information and review translations for the languages you enable. QR Menu supports Bosnian and English, while AI Menu supports up to eight languages. Guests can filter labelled allergens, but they should still speak to staff about ingredients and food preparation.

Can guests order through the QR code?

Browsing a menu and placing an order are separate features. A general menu link lets guests view your selection. A mojmeni code for a specific table connects the order to that table number, so staff know what to prepare and where to serve it.

Once staff open ordering for the table, guests choose items and options, review their basket and send the order. They can also call a waiter or request the bill. Requesting a bill does not take a payment on the phone: guests settle it with staff.

What do you need during a shift?

Staff need a phone or tablet with an internet connection and a venue sign-in. Guests also need an internet connection to send an order, call a waiter or request the bill. NFC and QR codes open the same web page; they do not replace an internet connection.

If the connection drops, a previously opened menu may still be available to browse. Its prices and availability may be out of date. Check unconfirmed orders with staff and refresh the menu when the connection returns. Guests can still order directly with a waiter.

How to set up a QR menu in three steps

  1. Send your existing menu

Send your food or drinks menu. We enter the initial selection, and you review items, prices and descriptions before using it.

  2. Prepare your tables and codes

Add tables in the dashboard and download their QR codes. Place them where guests can see them. An NFC stand also lets guests open the menu by tapping their phone.

  3. Try an order with your team

Scan a code, check the menu and send a test order from the table. Make sure staff can see it on their staff screen before the first service.

Check before your first service

  • Scan every QR code and check that it opens the right venue and table.
  • Review prices, extras, category availability schedules and sold-out items.
  • Check allergens and translations in every enabled language.
  • Sign staff in and test an order, a waiter call and a bill request.
  • Agree how staff will accept orders and take payment through your existing till.

How much does mojmeni cost?

Your first month and initial menu setup are free. After the trial, you pay a subscription with no commission per order. The price depends on your plan, table count and billing period. NFC stands are ordered separately.

After your trial, from 149,00 KM per month for up to 30 tables, excluding VAT.
